Effective date: September 21, 2026
Last updated: September 21, 2026
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the websites, study-recruitment pages, prescreening forms and related online services provided by Wayturn AB (collectively, the “Services”).
Wayturn AB (“Wayturn”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is located at:
Wayturn AB
Skalla Hamnväg 3
647 35 Mariefred
Sweden
These Terms apply to website visitors, prospective research participants and other individuals who use the Services. Services that Wayturn provides to hospitals, universities, investigators, study sponsors and other business clients are governed by separate written agreements. If a client agreement conflicts with these Terms, the client agreement governs the relationship between Wayturn and that client.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected and handled. Acknowledging the Privacy Policy is not the same as consenting to every type of data processing. Where consent is required, including for health information collected through a prescreening form, consent is requested separately within the relevant form.
2. Eligibility and Minors
You may use the Services only if you have the legal capacity to do so under the law that applies to you.
If you are not legally able to agree to these Terms independently, a parent, legal guardian or other legally authorized representative must act for you where permitted by the relevant study and applicable law.
A child under 13 may not independently submit a Wayturn prescreening form. The form must be submitted by, or with the required authorization of, a parent or legal guardian. A particular study or country may impose a higher age threshold or additional consent requirements.
3. Purpose of the Services
Wayturn provides advertising and participant-recruitment services for clinical and academic research studies in multiple countries.
The Services may allow you to:
- Learn about a research study
- Express interest in a study
- Complete an initial prescreening form
- Verify your telephone number
- Authorize Wayturn to transfer or make your information available to the responsible research organization
- Receive communications concerning the specific study
Use of the Services does not guarantee that you are eligible for, will be contacted about, or will be enrolled in a study. The responsible hospital, university, investigator, study sponsor or other research organization (“Research Organization”) makes all final decisions regarding further screening, eligibility and enrollment.
Wayturn does not charge prospective participants to use its recruitment or prescreening Services.
4. No User Accounts
Wayturn does not currently offer public user accounts, participant profiles or password-protected areas on its website.
A telephone verification code used to confirm a prescreening submission is not a user account. A Research Organization or third-party service linked from the Services may operate its own accounts or authentication systems, which are governed by that organization’s terms and privacy practices.
5. Not Medical Advice or Emergency Care
Wayturn is not a healthcare provider, clinical investigator or emergency service. The Services do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or healthcare.
Information made available through the Services is for research-recruitment and general informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for advice, assessment or treatment from a qualified healthcare professional.
Do not disregard or delay seeking medical advice because of information provided through the Services or because you are waiting to hear from a research team.
If you believe you may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately. Do not use Wayturn’s website, forms or email address for emergency assistance.
6. Study Information and Initial Prescreening
Study descriptions and eligibility criteria are generally supplied or approved by the responsible Research Organization. We take reasonable steps to present that information accurately, but study requirements, recruitment status and availability may change.
Some prescreening forms may automatically compare answers with rule-based criteria supplied by the Research Organization. Any result is preliminary and:
- Is not a medical diagnosis
- Does not constitute medical advice
- Does not guarantee eligibility or enrollment
- Does not replace assessment by qualified research personnel
The Research Organization is responsible for the study, its protocol, informed-consent process, medical evaluation and decisions concerning participation.
7. Information You Submit
When using a prescreening form or contacting us, you agree to:
- Provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- Submit information about yourself, or about another person only when you are legally authorized to act for that person
- Not impersonate another person
- Not knowingly submit false, misleading, duplicate or fraudulent information
- Review the study-specific consent statement before submitting health or contact information
Do not send complete medical records or unnecessary sensitive information by email unless Wayturn or the Research Organization has specifically instructed you to do so through an approved process.
Personal information submitted through the Services is handled as described in our Privacy Policy and the relevant study-specific notice or consent statement. Submitting personal information does not transfer ownership of that information to Wayturn.
8. Telephone Verification and Study Communications
Some prescreening forms require telephone verification. By requesting a verification code, you authorize Wayturn and its SMS provider to send the operational message needed to verify your number.
The verification message is not marketing. If you do not wish to receive the required verification message, you will not be able to complete the applicable prescreening form. Standard telephone or message charges imposed by your provider may apply.
Your telephone number or email address may also be used for communications about the specific study when disclosed in the form. Wayturn does not use participant contact information to market unrelated products, services or future studies.
9. Acceptable Use
You may use the Services only for lawful, personal and legitimate purposes.
You must not:
- Use the Services for fraud, harassment, abuse or unlawful activity
- Submit fabricated information or submissions on behalf of people who have not authorized you
- Use bots, scripts or automated systems to complete or repeatedly submit forms
- Scrape, harvest or systematically extract information from the Services without written permission
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to forms, systems, data or restricted areas
- Bypass security, rate limits, telephone verification or fraud-prevention measures
- Probe, scan or test a system for vulnerabilities without written authorization
- Introduce malware, malicious code or disruptive material
- Interfere with the operation or security of the Services
- Attempt to access another person’s information
- Misrepresent an affiliation with Wayturn or a Research Organization
- Copy or commercially exploit Wayturn content except as permitted by law or with our written permission
We may block submissions, restrict access, preserve relevant records or report activity where we reasonably believe the Services are being misused or security is threatened.
10. Intellectual Property
The Wayturn website and its original text, graphics, designs, logos, software and other content are owned by or licensed to Wayturn and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Wayturn grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to access and use the Services for their intended personal and informational purposes.
Except where permitted by law, you may not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, license, publicly display or commercially exploit Wayturn content without prior written permission.
Study names, institutional names, trademarks and materials belonging to Research Organizations or other third parties remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance on the Services does not transfer any ownership rights to Wayturn or to you.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may link to or use services operated by Research Organizations, form providers, communications providers, social-media platforms or other third parties.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Wayturn does not control their independent websites, systems or content and is not responsible for them except to the extent required by applicable law or an agreement governing Wayturn’s use of the provider.
A link does not necessarily mean that Wayturn endorses all content, products or services offered by the linked organization.
12. Privacy and Security
Our collection and handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy and in any study-specific privacy or consent information presented to you.
We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information. However, no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Nothing in these Terms limits Wayturn’s responsibilities concerning privacy, confidentiality, security incidents or personal information under applicable law or a binding agreement with a Research Organization.
13. Availability and Changes to the Services
We may modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Services where reasonably necessary, including for maintenance, security, legal compliance, changes to a study or instructions from a Research Organization.
We do not guarantee that every study or feature will remain available or that the Services will always operate without interruption or error.
Where reasonably practicable, changes affecting an active recruitment process will be coordinated with the responsible Research Organization.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
Wayturn does not guarantee:
- Continuous or error-free operation
- That every error or security issue will be corrected immediately
- Eligibility for or enrollment in any study
- That a Research Organization will contact you within a particular period
- The outcome, safety or suitability of participating in a study
- The continued availability of a study
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wayturn is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising solely from:
- Temporary inability to access the public website or a form
- Reliance on general informational content that is not medical or professional advice
- The independent acts or omissions of a Research Organization or unrelated third party
- Misuse of the Services contrary to these Terms
Wayturn is not responsible for clinical decisions, study procedures, medical care, participant compensation, travel arrangements, adverse events or other matters controlled by a Research Organization.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability arising from fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breach of non-excludable privacy or confidentiality obligations, or violation of mandatory consumer rights.
16. Suspension and Termination of Access
Wayturn may suspend or block access to the Services where we reasonably believe that a user:
- Has materially violated these Terms
- Has attempted to submit fraudulent or unauthorized information
- Presents a security risk
- Is using the Services unlawfully
- Is interfering with a study’s recruitment process
Suspension or blocking does not affect rights or obligations that arose before access ended.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by Swedish law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
However, if you are using the Services as a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory protections provided by the law of the country where you normally reside. You may also bring a claim in any court available to you under applicable mandatory law.
Subject to those mandatory rights, disputes relating to these Terms or the Services will be heard by the competent courts of Sweden.
Before starting formal proceedings, you may contact us at info@wayturn.com so that we can attempt to resolve the issue.
These Terms do not require individual users to submit disputes to arbitration and do not contain a class-action waiver.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, applicable law or our business practices.
Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Changes apply prospectively from the stated effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request agreement to material changes.
19. Severability and No Waiver
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
If Wayturn does not immediately enforce a provision, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any additional terms expressly presented for a particular Service, form the agreement between you and Wayturn concerning your use of the public Services.
They do not replace:
- The participant informed-consent agreement for a research study
- A Research Organization’s terms or privacy notice
- A contract between Wayturn and a business client
- Any rights or obligations that cannot be changed by contract
