
Join pregnant therapy study
The study is open to pregnant women living in Saskatchewan with a history of trauma or stress.
This study explores how guided group discussions during pregnancy may support emotional well-being and reduce stress. Two trained clinicians will guide small groups of expecting parents through 2-hour long sessions filled with information, discussions and activities.

What is required of participants?
- Join one session per week for 9 weeks. The sessions can be either in-person or over zoom.
- Reflect on past experiences, emotions, and how they relate to parenting

Who can Join?
- Pregnant women in Saskatchewan
- Ages 18 and above.
- Women with emotional stress related to parenting, childhood experiences, or other life events may qualify.
Join from home.
The STEP program was developed in Quebec, and is now being evaluated in Saskatchewan. Participants can join in person or remotely (Zoom or Teams).

Step 3: Join the STEP program
Attend weekly group sessions with two clinicians (1 session per week, for 9 weeks) along with 5-6 other pregnant participants. Join in-person or remotely. Sessions are guided by trained mental health professionals and focus on emotions, past experiences, and preparation for parenthood.
Step 4: Fill out brief surveys
Participants complete short surveys before and after the program. These help researchers understand the program’s impact.
